Layered Beef Lasagna

Description

This delicious layered beef lasagna is packed with flavor and perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • ½ tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1 large yellow onion, diced
  • 2 jars fresh pasta sauce
  • 2 boxes no-boil lasagna
  • 1 pound mozzarella, grated
  • 15 ounces ricotta
  • 7 ounces roasted red bell peppers, julienned
  • 1 tablespoon chopped Italian parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large sauté pan over medium heat, seasoning with kosher salt and cracked black pepper.
  3. Add the diced onion to the beef and cook for about 5 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in the pasta sauce and bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. In a 9×13-inch baking dish, layer a thin layer of sauce at the bottom.
  6. Lay down the no-boil lasagna sheets to cover the sauce.
  7. Add a generous layer of the sauce mixture, followed by strips of roasted red peppers.
  8. Cover with mozzarella and dollops of ricotta, then repeat the layers twice more.
  9. Finish with a final layer of sauce and mozzarella on top.
  10. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
  11. Let sit for 10-15 minutes, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve.

Notes

  • This lasagna can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the fridge before baking.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables or cheeses to customize your lasagna.
