- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 1 cup powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the vanilla extract until well incorporated.
- In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and cocoa powder, then gradually add this to the butter-sugar mix, stirring until fully combined.
- If desired, fold in the chopped walnuts or pecans.
- Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space in between.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until just set.
- Allow to cool slightly on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
